A Guide To Marin Bikes

Marin Bikes, founded in 1986 in Marin County, California, has been at the forefront of mountain biking innovation for decades, building some of the best mountain bikes in the world and supporting the worlds best and most influential riders, such as Matt Jones & Mark Matthews.

We’re stoked to welcome Marin to our range, so without any further ado, let's dive into five of the brand's standout models: the Rift Zone, Alpine Trail, Rift Zone EL and San Quentin.

Marin Rift Zone

The Rift Zone is Marin's versatile trail bike, designed to handle a variety of terrains. It features 130mm of suspension travel, striking a balance between efficiency and capability. 140mm travel forks on Rift Zone 1 and 2 models prop up the front end, while XR models get longer travel 150mm forks.

The lightweight aluminium frame ensures riders can pedal all day, making it suitable for both long climbs and thrilling descents. The biggest draw of the Rift Zone though, is its staggering value for money. Starting from well under £2000, this is a killer package for beginners, older kids, or riders on a budget!

The Rift Zone is also available in electric versions, the Rift Zone E and EL, for those seeking an extra boost.

It boasts 160mm of rear suspension travel and a 170mm front fork, providing ample cushioning for rough trails. The bike's slack head angle ensures it can tackle steep technical descents with ease, while a steep seat angle facilitates efficient climbing.

Its aluminium frame is super adjustable; it can run full 29 or mullet wheel sets and the geometry can be adjusted in multiple ways to dial it into your taste. Thanks to all that, the Alpine Trail caters to a range of riders, offering a balance between performance and affordability. Oh and did we mention it was named Pinkbike’s Value Bike of the Year?!
