Hiplok Ankr Ground & Wall Anchor

Not installed it yet but it does look the business. Never used fixing that screw directly in to masonry without rawl plugs so that will be interesting but doesn’t look too taxing.

Brilliant just what was needed and not horrendously expensive either!

Probably like many I did a fair amount of research, read reviews and watched countless YouTube clips before deciding what kind of wall anchor would be best for my needs. There are many on the market and each has it's advantages. What I liked about the Hiplok Ankr, was it's simplistic design and that it can be removed at a later date should you move house or place of work, and unlike other ground anchors, there will be no need to hire a jack hammer!
Does that make it secure?, I hear you ask. Well, through a clever design, the anchoring bolts that go into your floor or wall are on the base plate. Then the steel cover screws over the top, which is where you pass the chain through. As long as something is fed through this device, it will not unscrew, to reveal the securing screws. No need to hammer in ball bearings.
This does bring me onto my next point, what you feed through the Hiplok Ankr? Any wall anchor is only as good as it weakest point. If you go with this anchor, which I would highly recommend, you also need to grace it with a suitably secure chain. Hiplok have a good range, and I went with the Hiplok Homie, which again I would recommend. Add to this a good D-Lock like the Abus Granite Xplus and you are making life very difficult for any would be theif, but you are making your insurance company happy and you get peace of mind. Of course they could jack hammer the floor/wall, which is more noticeable.
As I did, do your research, and if this suits your needs, go for it. Hiplok have put a lot of research and testing into their products.

Bought this as I’ve just got a new mountain bike...very solidly built, well made, and will definitely keep my bike safe in my garage.

Well made sturdy piece of kit

The anchor is of good quality and the design is really nice although I find it difficult to unscrew the middle part and the plugs for the screws are missing.
