Shimano's SD5 (SD501) SPD Sandals are a true icon, for right or wrong reasons! For many riders, the SD5 offers the ultimate in comfort when touring, making it perfect for long bike-packing adventures and tours where you want footwear that is comfortable to wear all day long, on or off the bike.

The new SD5 has improved sizing and fit compared to the original making it even more comfortable long all-day rides, while the comfort liner allows you to ride without socks, though they are still highly recommended. If SPD pedals aren't your thing, a cleat cap is included for both shoes so they can be used with flat pedals. The semi-rigid Power Transfer Blade not only offers significant power-loss reduction, resulting in efficient transfer of power, but it also comfortable for walk in for hour after hour, so can be worn for hours in total comfort, even when hiking or walking.
