I bought Vittoria Randonneur tyres, 700c x 45mm and fitted them to my Giant Tough Road SLR1 with 700c tubeless rims. I mainly ride countrylanes, sometimes bike packing/touring for long weekends. These tyres are new, not had before, so can only comment on ride quality at the moment, though others report good durability so expectations are high. I was expecting them to feel heavy, but they are not too bad, even given the size. They were easy to fit on my 700c tubeless rims. They feel plush to ride, soaking up a lot of the rough lane surfaces I have here in mid-Wales. The rubber is soft and tacky at the moment, so grip is MotoGP. Tyre grooves are waste of time, would rather the tyres was just plain rubber - but then perhaps the grooves save a bit of weight? On first ride, I did run past a freshly cut blackthorn hedge and managed to dodge the debris and didn't get a puncture. However, I suspect these tyres are not 'especially' puncture proof due to softness of the casing - these feel more like road bike tyres than the harder touring/recumbent tyres and I like that for the riding I do. Given how cheap they are, I'd say these are well worth the money. Especially if you have a set of off-road tyres on stand-by for when you plan to go off the gravel and into the mud. If money is tight and you want a cheap, mainly tarmac/cycle/tow path tyres with the capability of occasional gravel/fire-trail, I highly recommend these as excellent value for money.
